Senior Editor
The Public Source is recruiting a versatile senior editor with significant experience in long-form journalism.
This is a full-time position (4 days/week) with a start date of April 15, 2024.
Applicants must be based in Lebanon.
The ideal candidate is a strategic and creative thinker — committed to quality public interest journalism — with at least five to seven years of experience as a journalist and/or editor.
Responsibilities
The senior editor works closely with the editor in chief and the investigations editor to help:
Lead the development of the publication's editorial vision, mission, and long-term strategic planning
Set its tone, policies, and editorial direction
Refine its editorial strategy, procedures, and editorial production workflows
Commission and edit articles
Recruit, train, and nurture journalists and other media workers
Develop and implement communications and other strategies
Represent The Public Source whenever necessary (interviews with the press, conferences, speaking engagements, etc.)
Qualifications
Language & Editing Skills – A superb command of the English language
Leadership Skills – The ability to inspire and motivate others
Communication Skills – Respectful, timely, and thoughtful communication in person and online
Organizational & Time Management Skills – You can manage yourself and our shared workload efficiently and effectively

Salary Range (commensurate with experience)
$2,000-$2,800
